Whilst I remember – it’s the big wedding tomorrow and I hope Sue has a lovely day and everything goes well.
Now there are some of you who may, on occasion, have accused me of being bit of a snob – and you would be right!
Tonight we went to eat at Ponderosa, a place everyone seems to recommend, and now I know why
It’s cheap
But then so are the people in it, you have to order as you walk in from a big board and pay there and then, we like to sit and peruse a menu.
Having ordered from the big board you sit and you can help yourself from the buffet bar.
I think the problem I have is too fold:
A place needs to either be a fast food outlet or a restaurant and this place, and others like it, are trying to be both
And
All the British people in there are the sort of people I go on holiday to avoid – most if not all were wearing ¾ length trousers and that’s just the men!
Cheap – it certainly is!
So in short it has become clear to me that I need to eat in places that cost more.
We actually spent the day very enjoyably at NASA
It’s a superb visit and was a relief to be somewhere less crowded, the whole place is quite awesome and the fact there is a shuttle up in space at the moment – it took off the day after we arrived and lands the day we leave – added to the excitement.
But it’s the Saturn rocket that really takes your breath away – it’s massive. We all enjoyed the whole day and as it’s mostly air-conditioned its even better.
It looks like in true Gadsden tradition, we will be visiting the doctors soon as Lu has earache which may be swim ear but could also be an infection so I am treating it as a blockage and will see how we go – fingers crossed.
Just to finish off let me talk you through the breakfast I had this morning in Denny’s – they serve you at the table – Ponderosa/ sizzlers take note!
3 Bacon slices
3 Sausage links
Hash browns
2 eggs – easy over
2 cups coffee
3 pancakes with cream and maple syrup
I am so lucky I never wear my lunch on my hips.
Have to go now as my stomach is pushing the laptop off my knee.
