And so, the end is near, and so I write, my final blog
Well not the last one, we have the journey back to cover, but nearly the last one.
But before I do that I need to do this
Yesterday past script
In all the time we have been here in this mad place we have never once glimpse anyone famous
Till yesterday
At Universal Island of Adventure
And guess who walked past me pushing her youngest in a buggy and with her husband walking along in front with her other two
Wait for it
It was
.
Sally Gunnell !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And she looked as harassed as I did.
Just goes to show, Olympic gold means nothing when you have kids!
Anyway our last day
Well it started early for me with Lucy waking me up crying with earache and me coughing like a navvy so very little sleep was had by either.
We couldnt decide where to go but eventually decided to all go back to Magic Kingdom it seemed fitting, but boy was it hot.
When we got in the car on Monday it read 99 outside and I reckon today was hotter.
Our two favourite rides were where we wanted to go so we fast passed splash mountain and queued for thunder railroad, where a very American Granddad proceeded to tell us that Britain was a great country and Tony Blair was a great man as he had stood strong next to bush against all the liberal types bringing our respective countries down and had they been around in 1940 we would all be speaking German!
He did it in a very New York accent.
The ride couldnt come soon enough!
And it was a great ride.
Then we got wet again on splash the clue is in the name mountain.
By then it was boiling and I felt rubbish so we headed home to pack up and chill for the afternoon.
Its killing Lu not being able to go in the pool so I rigged a wal mart bag swim cap and she did get a little swim al be it with her head above the water.
In the evening none of us actually wanted to eat anything thats how you end up!
But we went down to a place called the pub and what a find it was
Isnt it always the case that its on the last day, and not the first, you stumble across a gem!
They did lovely food that actually had flavour and we realised that has been the difference, the American food is plentiful but all tastes the same.
This was lovely and then to top it all
Elvis was in the house!!
Yes Nicks favourite, Elvis, was playing for one night only, so we ate and listened (and Nick had a pint) and it was great.
So now its 4 in the morning and I am still coughing for England but at least everyone else is asleep touch wood and we are almost packed and ready for off.
See Yaall
